Training & Behavioral Support
Dogs, like people, learn best when their needs are met and when they are set up for success. Training and behavior support often overlap, but they are not the same. Training focuses on teaching skills and manners that help dogs navigate our human world more smoothly. Behavioral support addresses deeper challenges that may be rooted in emotions, stress, or other underlying factors that affect a dog’s wellbeing. Both can work hand in hand to build a calmer, more joyful partnership between dogs and their families.
Training
Behavioral Support
I use positive, reward-based methods that start with small, achievable behaviors and build on each success. Training is a two-way conversation between you and your dog that focuses on joy, trust, and cooperation. It’s a powerful tool for teaching skills and strengthening your bond, but it's frequently misunderstood, it isn’t about “fixing bad behavior.” It’s about helping your dog learn how to thrive alongside you.

Behavioral support goes deeper than basic manners. It’s about uncovering the why behind your dog’s challenges—whether that looks like reactivity on walks, conflict with another pet, or stress when left alone. Every dog’s needs are unique, and sometimes the root causes are subtle or easy to miss. We are detectives working together, observing patterns and making adjustments to support your dog and bring more balance and harmony to your home.
How do I know which one I need?
Skills or Behavioral Support?
You won't decide this alone. We'll have a pretty good idea of what you need after our free 15-minute discovery call. If you decide to move forward, we'll have plenty of opportunity to refine and prioritize your dog's personal training plan.

Custom-tailored training designed around your goals. We can work in your home, your community or online.

How It Works
Step 1:
Discovery Call (15 min, free) – We identify goals, location, and format (in-home inside radius, virtual, or trainer-approved public meet within the radius).
Step 2:
Book Initial Consult – If we’re a match, we take payment and schedule your consult; you’ll also get your intake form.
Step 3:
Intake Form – Please return at least 24 hours before the consult so we can review and prepare.
Step 4:
Initial Consult (60–90 min) – We review your intake, expand on details, and confirm whether Skills or Behavioral Support is the best track. If you choose a package, we schedule it together.
Step 5:
Ongoing Adjustments – We reassess as we go. Needs can change, and we’ll update the plan when warranted.
